Reporting to the Supervisor, Budget and Reporting, the Junior Accounting Analyst is responsible for entering and maintaining utilities and dog license account records, processing payments, supporting Accounting Analysts, and providing excellent customer service. The Junior Accounting Analyst ensures that all information handled is accurate and confidentiality is maintained.

Core Accountabilities
- Set-up customer accounts in Great Plains.
- Prepare and process utility and dog license account adjustments.
- Process payments through direct deposits.
- Prepare and mail monthly and bi-monthly utility billing statements.
- Prepare and mail annual dog license invoices and monthly statements.
- Prepare reconciliations for various general ledger accounts.
- Provide backup and support to the Accounting Analysts.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Work in accordance with the requirements established by the RVC Health and Safety Program and the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
- Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves and other persons at or in the vicinity of the worksite while they are working.

Position Requirements

Completion or working towards a financial or accounting certification along with a minimum 1 year of experience.
- High attention to detail.
- Good keyboarding and mathematical skills.
- Demonstrate time management, organizational and decision-making ability.
- Demonstrate superior customer service skills to both internal and external customers.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working on computers and filing systems.
- Ability to stay focused on repetitive tasks and process a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with Great Plains (asset).
- Demonstrated cooperative team player, able to maintain a positive attitude and foster a positive work environment.
