**What can I expect to do in this role?**: At the Dorion Fish Culture Station, you will work in a team to:

- assist with the collection and distribution of eggs and fish
- carry out daily fish culture activities, such as water quality, feeding, thinning and sampling
- perform routine maintenance including tank cleaning and equipment maintenance
- observe fish behaviour, mortality trends and densities
- track data and prepare reports
- be responsible for facility control as required, such as on weekends or holidays

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory requirement**:

- You must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid DZ class licence.

**Technical knowledge**:

- You are knowledgeable of fish culture techniques and hatchery methods and procedures.
- You possess knowledge of the roles, goals and objectives of fisheries management.
- You have a good understanding of related resource management principles for fish and wildlife.

**Skills**:

- You have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with clients and in a team setting.
- You possess proven analytical and problem solving skills.
- You have strong organizational and time management skills.
- You are proficient with computers and related spreadsheet, database and word processing software.
