The primary role of the **Warehouse **Shipping Lead** / Warehouse Worker II** is to coordinate the effective and accurate movement of all sales orders shipped to Customers. The Product Shipping Lead is responsible to meet all loading and shipping requirements established by Customers. The Product Shipping Lead is responsible for coordinating with Customer Experience dates for shipping products, including drop off and pick up of transportation and with Quality Assurance the product is released for shipment.

The secondary role of this position is to assist the Warehouse Supervisor in identifying and improving operational effectiveness, efficiency within the warehouse operation, maintaining inventory accuracy and acting as Supervisor in their absence.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**

**Shipping**
- ** Customer orders**
- Coordinate shipping of all sales orders
- Responsible for all tasks associated with outgoing shipments, including shipment inspections, creation of pick lists, order verification, and loading and unloading of orders.
- Responsible for creating and updating customer loading profiles.
- ** Documentation**
- Ensure that all shipments are entered into the system (Navision) immediately upon shipment.
- Ensure transfers between warehouses are entered into the system in a timely matter.
- ** Work Scheduling**

a. As necessary, performs daily warehouse tasks to meet daily targets and housekeeping requirements.
- ** Transportation**
- Coordinate in conjunction with Customer Experience transportation for orders.
- Conduct transportation inspections and inform all non-conformities.
- Log and load pictures and the other formal shipping documents into SharePoint.

**Quality & Customer Experience**
- Ensure product quality by practicing and enforcing QA, HACCP, Food Safety, and FSSC 22000 requirements in all aspects of warehouse operations.
- Assist with developing SOPs and Standard Work documentation processes and tasks for warehouse operations, train employees on SOPs, and ensure employee adherence to SOPs when performing job responsibilities and tasks.
- Creates and maintains all customer loading profiles.
- Ensure all shipments are loaded according to the customer’s documented requirements to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Work towards the attainment of warehouse goals and objectives, provides leadership in the managing of food safety initiatives at Vitalus and meet statutory, regulatory and customer requirements.

**Leadership & Human Resources**:

- Develop and maintain a team-based work environment by providing coaching, training, and clear and consistent communication.
- Develop a plan and schedule to assess the training needs of warehouse staff in relation to customer shipments and loading profiles.
- Conduct training for the warehouse on shipping and customer loading profiles.
- Coordinates human resources required to efficiently complete operational processes within warehouse operations. Consultations with the Warehouse Supervisor are required. I.E., directing staff, work schedules, and employee relations.
- Ensure a respectful, safe, and healthy work environment.
- Assist in the development of positive cross-functional/department relationships.

**Safety & Environment**:

- Foster safe work practices by enforcing standard safety procedures and as required develop and implement practical recommendations for safety practices.
- Verify that no unsafe practices develop in the warehouse operations, perform daily mobile equipment inspections, and enforce all the policies and procedures related to employee safety in the work environment.

**Continuous Improvement**
- Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of processes and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

**COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Ability)**
- Demonstrates leadership ability and interpersonal skills, creates a team environment, and drives employee productivity and competence.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate one-on-one and in group settings.
- Proficiency using Navision.
- Focus on quality including the development and adherence to Quality Policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that create business unit efficiencies.
- Problem solver with good analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot as the need arises. Involves staff in the decision-making process.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- 5 years of warehouse experience, preferably within the food industry, with an emphasis on inventory control. 1-2 years in team lead role.
- Forklift license.
- High attention to detail and numerical ability.
- Highly organized with excellent time management/priority setting and decision-making skills.
- Experience in a culturally diverse work environment.
