We are currently looking for a weekend server to join our Bistro team. The duties include but are not limited to:
- Take and serve guest orders promptly and according to service manual.
- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs.
- Date all food containers and rotate as per hotel standards, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up. Note any out of stock items or possible shortages. Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
- Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables.
- Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per Marriott Standards.
- Operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill.
- Check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
- Prepare drinks, mix cocktails and serve guests with a uniquely engaging manner.
- Ring all the orders through the POS and perform opening and closing duties.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
- Assist Food and Beverage Manager with month end inventories
- Assist Food and Beverage Manager with ordering food stock and supplies
- Supervise Line Cooks and Servers in the absence of the Food and Beverage Manager
- Audit all dishes that come off of the line.
- Audit for all Marriott Standards and expectations.
Minimum Qualifications and Expectations:
- 2 years of Server experience in fast-paced and demanding environments.
- 2 years Supervisory experience will be an asset.
- Banquet experience will be an asset.
- Bartending experience will be an asset.
- Communicate well with guests.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times and communicates well with guests.
- Willing to “pitch-in” and help co
- workers with Courtyard Marriott job duties and be a team player.
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 100 lbs. and also has the ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach to assist other staff members, i.e., room attendants, laundry attendants, house-persons, and inspectors to complete Courtyard Marriott’s tasks if situation demands.
- Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: From $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
