**About Our Opportunity**:
As the Program Administration Officer 3 you will be responsible for providing advice and assistance on financial matters relating to the various program areas within the Financial Services Unit and external agencies funding by the client departments.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
Some of the primary accountabilities of the role will include:

- Assisting with the financial administration, management, and/or coordination of existing programs delivered by the client department.
- Assisting in the implementation of systems and procedures to organize and coordinate the collection of financial and statistical information.
- Providing interpretations of the guidelines and advice to external auditors, healthcare administrators, and departmental staff.
- Examining, analyzing, and reporting on the short-term fiscal impacts of program and budget initiatives on programs and externally funded agencies.
- Participating in the business planning process of both the client department and external agencies.

In this role, you will work directly with the Program Administration Officer IV (PAO IV) and report to the Executive Director of Finance.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a bachelor’s degree with 5 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

You have knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards and other relevant accounting standards. You have previous experience providing counsel to clients on financial, accounting, and reporting issues in the context of generally accepted accounting principles, legislation, and policy. You have a demonstrated ability to critically examine financial statements and perform operational/program reviews. You possess strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and relationship building skills.

While not required, it is considered an asset if you have an accounting designation (CPA), or are currently enrolled in a recognized accounting program which will result in a CPA designation.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
