Barista

**Experienced Coffee Barista**

Blacksmith Bakery is on the lookout for friendly, energetic and experienced Coffee Baristas to wow our customers with your barista skills, at our Maple Ridge location Must be able to work Monday -Friday 10:00-5:30pm. (Closed on Stat Holidays)

We are looking for the best in the coffee business to join our team. If you are a team player and have excellent barista skills, provide inspiring customer service and possess a positive and glowing attitude, then we want to hear from you.

**Responsibilities**:

- Making exceptionally good coffee for customers
- Organization and maintenance of the coffee bar
- Ensuring the coffee bar station is clean at all times
- Following the high quality standards set for our barista team
- Engaging with customers to provide quick and personable positive service experiences
- Fill in for Cashiers and FOH staff when needed
- Help with packaging and gift wrapping products.
- Follow directions of managers
- During down time, you must also be willing to cover duties like serving pastries, point of sale, order taking and packing, maintenance of a clean and organized work environment, as well as monitoring general front of house needs without being asked._
- Makes locals feel appreciated and highly valued throughout interactions.
- Follows all Blacksmith Bakery recipes and procedures and complete them in a timely manner
- Is reliable and hardworking - arrives on time, ready to crush it
- Maintains an organized and hygienic working environment, clean and restock routinely
- Performs well under pressure while maintaining quality, efficiency and friendly service
- Is an inspiring and accountable team leader
- A café culture guru with amazing people skills
- Loves coffee, latte art, and has a solid amount of product knowledge
- Is an engaging personality - positive thinker, and team motivator
- Has strong communication skills, with excellent proficiency in English

**To be considered, you will possess**:

- The ability to handle the pressure of a busy environment
- The ability to calmly memorize and complete multiple orders at one time
- Finessed latte art skills and an advanced understanding of coffee extraction
- A passion to provide highest quality product and customer experience
- Attention to detail and quick and friendly communication skills
- Experience in, and an ability to use a Point of Sale (POS) system

Blacksmith Bakery is an artisan bakeshop started in historic Fort Langley, built on the original site of Reid’s blacksmith shop circa 1910. We create real food using traditional artisanal methods, baked fresh daily, on-site, in our open kitchen using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. The hand forged viennoiserie, patisserie, cakes, eclairs, tarts, cookies, savouries, soups and gourmet sandwiches crafted by our passionate team are worth the trip. We love our coffee Our baristas craft the finest range of espresso based coffee drinks using organic beans roasted by local artisanal roasters. We are proud to have four different locations to have our community come to visit us
