**Position Summary**
Under the general direction of the Manager, Property Services, this position is responsible for the day-to-day activities of track maintenance and is responsible for assisting with the planning and directing of track maintenance initiatives. Provides input on performance evaluations, assists with the implementation all new track maintenance initiatives. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Fraser Downs Racetrack located at Elements Casino Surrey is a five eighths of a mile horse track in Surrey, British Columbia, that features harness racing.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Provides input for team member performance objectives and evaluations
- Schedules and supervises track maintenance team members
- Assigns work assignments
- Assists with the implementation of track maintenance strategic plans
- Oversees track grading, watering and surface grooming
- Implements large maintenance projects and scheduled/recorded surface measuring plans
- Provides reports as required
- Provides information for future budgets; maintains track maintenance budget
- Assesses equipment breakdowns/emergency situations and coordinates resolution
- Responds and resolves issues as escalated; escalates issues as required
- Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members)
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations Performs other duties as assigned or directed
**Education and Qualifications**
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 3 years of experience in grader, heavy equipment, tractor and water truck operation, supervisory experience required; racing experience preferred
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate an asset
- Forklift Operator Certificate, WHMIS
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
- Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting preferred
- Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
**Work Environment Considerations**
- Regular office an d racetrack environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be required
