Junior Draftsperson

For over 70 years, Ellis Glass has been a leader in the glazing industry specializing in curtain wall, store-fronts and custom architectural glazing systems. With the 401, 402 & 403 highways minutes away from our head office in Woodstock Ontario, Ellis Glass has been able to grow significantly in all directions with great success. As we continue to grow and continue to be at the forefront of our industry, Ellis Glass is expanding our drafting division and are looking to hire a full-time junior draftsperson

The Junior Draftsperson position will report to the Senior Draftsperson of Ellis Glass

**Responsibilities**:

- Identify detail issues with regards to commercial window materials & curtain wall
- Efficiently read & review project specifications
- Provide solutions to existing drawing issues and reach out for clarification
- Produce full sets of shop drawings (site plan, elevations, section details, etc)
- Review shop drawings with project managers & produce cut lists of materials
- Double-check cut lists for both fabrication releases & glass orders
- Correspond and organize the execution of projects with project managers, estimating division, and site supervisor

Skills & Qualifications
- Proficient with AutoCAD & Revit (1-2 years minimum experience)
- Good understanding of the Ontario Building Code with regards to glazing
- Ability to meet deadlines to ensure projects stay on schedule
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and prioritizing the work load
- Must be able to work well in both a team & independent environment
- Must be organized, detail-oriented & self-motivated

**Salary**: From $45,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Woodstock, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- AutoCAD: 1 year (preferred)
- drafting: 1 year (preferred)
