Your Role and Responsibilities

At IBM Payments Center (IPC), we are looking for DevSecOps Intern for 8-12 months work term commencing January 2023. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and return to full-time studies upon completion of the work term. This position resides in Toronto, Ontario OR Montreal, Quebec.

DevSecOps SRE Practice, we are passionate about empowering our teams with a rich feature set, high availability, fault tolerance, and stellar performance to pursue their respective missions. As we expand our deployments globally, we are currently seeking SREs who brings fresh ideas, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world solutions to deliver automation and insights in real time.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:

- Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
- Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, and innovating to continually improve
- Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
- Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Must be eligible to work 8 or 12 months work term starting January 2023.
- Experience with Cloud Platforms, cloud native deployments, distributed processing, dynamic resource management frameworks, distributed storage technology
- Ability and willingness to learn new automation and monitoring technologies
- Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages
- A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, and documentation skill

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Previous success in technical engineering
- Coding experience
- Registered in a formal co-op/internship program
