**Job Description**:
AECOM is actively seeking an Engineer In-Training to join our growing Western Canada remediation and reclamation team in Calgary Alberta. You’ll have the opportunity to work on various multi-disciplinary and high-profile environmental and civil projects. This is a Full-time role.

The role will likely focus on supporting ongoing large northern remediation projects, such as Faro Mine and Giant Mine Remediation, but will also interface with other projects within AECOM’s remediation and waste business.

The role at AECOM will be a combination of technical delivery and assistant project management responsibilities in a consultancy environment.

Below are examples responsibilities you could expect when working within the AECOM team to deliver all phases of projects under the supervision of senior engineers:
Responsibilities of the role will include providing support to coworkers and senior staff on multi-disciplinary projects doing a combination of the following:
**+ Project management support**: Coordinate project deliverables, proposal development and scope change composition, scope and budget tracking, invoicing. Organize meetings and take minutes.

+ Complex collaboration and coordination of multi-disciplinary engineering and scientific teams across AECOM, contractors, sub-consultants, and clients.

**+ Design development**:
+ Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

+ Working within a team to develop technical solutions to assist in the design of civil earthworks; waste infrastructure in a municipal environment; and remediation infrastructure projects

**+ Preparing documentation for design projects**: technical letters, memorandums, reports, drawings, and detailed design packages (specifications, contract documents, construction packages, and estimates)

+ Prepare regulatory submittal documents on environmental and civil components.

+ Prepare for and perform field investigations, collecting field data, and analyzing field data and laboratory testing results; and detailed technical reporting on the programs. This could include drilling site supervision, soil and bedrock logging, soil and water quality sample collection, pumping test supervision, etc.

+ Perform construction supervision, administration, and monitoring, including contract close out and reporting.

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:
+ Bachelor of Engineering degree in a relevant technical discipline, including but not limited to geology, hydrogeology, environmental, or civil engineering.

+ Engineer in Training Certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

+ Valid Driver’s License

+ Willing to travel to Canada’s northern territories for short periods.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
+ Degree + 2 years of relevant experience

+ Solid written and spoken communication skills to execute the above tasks, including using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and preparing technical reports
