**YOUR ROLE AT MIRATERRA**

We are seeking a Soil Analyst to join the Soil Analytics Team, which is responsible for generating ground truth data for Miraterra’s ambitious work to develop novel soil sensors. Your work will be an essential part of the Soil Analytics Team’s success. You’ll conduct a range of soil analyses at our laboratory facilities in Vancouver, and you may also complete a limited amount of field work.

**WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**

Reporting to the Soil Testing Manager, this position will work closely with the rest of the Soil Analytics Team, as well as friendly and intelligent scientists and engineers across the company.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Complete a wide range of classical soil analyses including chemical, physical, and biological tests.
- Develop and troubleshoot methods within our lab and refine techniques to ensure the data obtained is consistent and accurate.
- Generate standard operating procedures.
- Manage and organize data and perform basic statistical analysis.
- Document your work, maintain excellent laboratory records.
- Undertake a limited amount of field work to collect soils, field-test sensors.
- Perform other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to work as part of a small team, coordinating activities and contributing to the overall goals of the team.
- Completion of a Bachelors of Science or equivalent working experience.
- Experience conducting tests/experiments while working with sensitive equipment and potentially hazardous chemicals in a soil science laboratory.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain meticulous records and work with shared resources.
- Capacity to handle repetitive tasks whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to occasionally travel for short periods of time and/or work outside of normal working hours.
- Skill at prioritizing, planning, and organizing work activities.
- Someone who exhibits passion about soil science and the environment, has a can-do attitude, and is adaptable and comfortable working with time and resource constraints.

**WE VALUE, BUT DON'T REQUIRE**
- Undergraduate degree in soil science or advanced soil science coursework.
- Experience conducting field-based soil research, including collecting soil samples, obtaining soil measurements, making field notes and collating field information while working remotely in potentially challenging environmental conditions.

**LOCATION**
- Based on-site in Vancouver, B.C. with limited travel across Canada and the US. (This role is not eligible for remote work.)
