Job Title: Printing Operator I

**MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB**

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the **Printing Operator I** will be responsible for the printing of various types of labels for products to supply the Production Floor and other departments as required with customer label requirements accurately & efficiently

**MAIN JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILTIES (may include the following and other duties may be assigned)**:

- Operates and maintains all equipment in accordance with SOPs, GMP and follows all safety procedures (PPE & emergency stops) and ensure complete documentation and administration reports, & accurate updating of logbook.
- Setup, operate & maintain label printers, coding, & embossing machines with high attention to detail & mínimal supervision while maintaining consistent quality & flow of goods.
- To perform and produce accurate labels as per customer specifications, requirements & quantity.
- Ensure all stock & printing components are available daily.
- Performs quality inspects on printed products to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Read and check for spelling and bar code accuracy utilizing tools and training provided.
- Keeping work area organized and clean in accordance with the 5S principles.
- Ensure all stock & printing components are available daily.
- Maintain an accurate database of standard labels produced in logbook.
- Cross training & rotation in packaging may be required/ performed.
- Any other duties as may be assigned.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

**KNOWLEDGE/ EDUCATION**
- Highschool diploma or Equivalent is a must, experience in a similar role and industry and/or post-Secondary education is an asset
- Must have WHMIS and GMP training.

**JOB EXPERIENCE**
- 1-2 years’ experience in a machine/ printing/ press operator capacity.
- Manufacturing experience preferred

**SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES**
- Team Oriented and self-directed
- Committed to Quality, Safety and Communication
- Good trouble shooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability & willingness to learn
- High attention to detail

**PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS**
- Back: Regular lifting or carrying loads (20 - 50 lbs)
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Constant wrist movement
- Flexible for Overtime

**CAREER STREAM**

Typically, this position is for an organizational contributor with responsibility inproviding organizational & operational support or service in a “hands-on” environment in support of daily activities. The next career level will be of Automation Technician II or similar position based on performance, business requirements & position availability.

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
