The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the café. This includes assisting with administrative tasks, supervising staff, ensuring quality service, and implementing promotional activities to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.

**Requirements**:

- **Previous** experience in the food services industry, preferably in a café or restaurant setting.
- At least **one year of experience** in a supervisory or leadership role, with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with customers and team members.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- At least **one year of experience** and knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso preparation is preferred.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and food handling procedures.
- Experience in social media advertising, with the ability to create engaging content and manage promotional campaigns effectively.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of basic financial principles, such as budgeting, cost control, and profit margins.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A high school diploma or equivalent and additional qualifications, such as a degree in hospitality management or a related field, are a plus.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
- Supervise and train staff members, ensuring they adhere to company policies and procedures and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and labour costs to meet operational needs while maintaining budgetary targets.
- Ensure quality standards for food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service are consistently met.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the customer's satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, including regularly cleaning equipment, workstations, and common areas.
- Assist with ordering supplies, monitoring inventory levels, and managing vendor relationships to ensure product availability and quality.
- Implement promotional activities and marketing initiatives to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
- Collaborate with the Manager and Owner to develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and training programs to optimize efficiency and performance.
- Serve as a role model and mentor to staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
