**Responsibilities**:
**About the Department**

The diagnostics team is responsible for developing test suites that exercise and validate the hardware blocks in the graphics and compute ASICs developed at AMD. We are heavily involved in diagnostics development for the latest innovations in next generation graphics and compute ASICs that power the ultimate visual experience. Once developed these diagnostics are used in all aspects of the product lifecycle, from pre-silicon validation through the production life of the product.

The Co-op student has an important role in ensuring robust diagnostics quality and feature coverage with opportunities to learn about HW features and SW/HW debugging. This position requires knowledge and skills in both software and hardware engineering

**What you’ll be doing**

Debug and work in a variety of areas should be expected to give you a system level view of the HW and SW that makes the GPU work.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- The design and verification of diagnostics test suites:

- ASIC Qualification
- ASIC and Board production test suites for both internal and external customers
- Identifying and troubleshooting HW and SW problems
- Analyzing fall out boards
- Perform tuning activity on the suites
- Support of customer issues, including investigation and debugging of diagnostics scripting and source code
- Assist in ASIC bring-up and support activities
- Development and debug of automation tools/scripts to assist with the above
