**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**TITLE**: Ground and Park Maintenance

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIP**: Park Manager

**JOB SYNOPSIS**: Park Maintenance persons work in accordance with the operational and preventative maintenance programs and Quality Control plans to ensure all maintenance and general upkeep of the park is being done in an efficient timely manner.

**RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:

- Be familiar with and assist with the maintenance of all water systems; seasonal start up, in season maintenance, shut down and regular testing of water system.
- Be familiar with and oversee maintenance of all facilities and infrastructure.
- Garbage collection throughout the park and campground
- Re-finish picnic table boards, kiosks & signage
- Attend regular safety and informational meetings and debriefings.
- Be familiar with and prepared to execute Health Safety and Environment plan, and Emergency Procedures
- Hazard Assessment and Risk Management
- Complete Daily Maintenance/Operational inspection forms and log books; and comply with any

Repairs/Maintenance response times
- Daily maintenance and repairs to all the tools, machinery and equipment.
- Ensure the Operating Area is safe, clean, functional and well maintained to a high standard of service
- Be familiar with the Park Act - Compliance and enforcement and be able to communicate them to Park users in a courteous manner when necessary to do so.
- Take an active role in good stewardship with regard to Conservation Management and Invasive Species management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A valid BC driver’s license & St. Johns Basic First Aid
- To be successful in this role, you must have general understanding of park and landscape maintenance techniques, experience using small tools and equipment, understanding of general facility and infrastructure maintenance and cleaning, basic knowledge of construction techniques, safe operation of maintenance equipment such as ATV’s, lawn equipment and tractors. You must have good communication, time management and organizational skills.**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $20.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Central Kootenay Rd Rural, BC V1L 6N4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Building maintenance: 5 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 1 Licence (required)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)
