As a Banquet Hall Part-Time Server at Pickering Event Centre, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of various events, including weddings, corporate functions, parties, and other special occasions. You will provide exceptional customer service by serving food and beverages to guests, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the banquet hall, and assisting with event setup and teardown.

**Responsibilities**:
Food and Beverage Service: Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests and relay them to the kitchen or bar staff.
Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, adhering to high-quality service standards.
Monitor guest needs during events, ensuring all requests are fulfilled promptly and courteously.
Clear tables, replenish supplies, and ensure a clean and presentable dining area.

Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service by anticipating and fulfilling guests' needs.
Answer guest inquiries regarding menu items, event details, and venue facilities.
Assist in resolving any guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Event Setup and Teardown:
Assist with the setup of banquet hall prior to events, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and table settings.
Ensure proper placement and organization of utensils, glassware, and other necessary items.
Collaborate with event coordinators and other staff members to ensure a smooth event flow.
Assist with teardown and cleanup after events, including clearing tables, packing up equipment, and returning items to their designated storage areas.

Safety and Hygiene:
Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper food handling and storage practices.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the banquet hall, including tables, chairs, floors, and service areas.
Adhere to the venue's policies and procedures, including dress code and grooming standards.
Report any maintenance or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in the food service industry, particularly in banquet or event settings, is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Knowledge of food and beverage safety practices.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift/move heavy objects.
- Drivers licence an asset
- Food handlers certificate an asset

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
