**Plate Fitter** for the Edmonton manufacturing team on the
- **afternoon shift.** This position will report to the General Foreman.

**What you will do**:

- Work with heavy plate steel to fit heavy machine attachments
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Fabricate steel weldments and use measuring instruments to fit heavy machine attachments
- Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units
- Fasten components together (by tack weld) in preparation for a welder to complete the process
- Operate and use various other tools and hand grinders

**Your qualifications**:

- Journeyman certification in welding and or plate fitting or experienced plate fitter
- May accept apprentice fitters
- A minimum of 2+ years related experience in the manufacturing industry
- Experience plate fitting heavy machine attachments would be an asset
- Overhead crane experience

- Knowledge of safe use of tools pertaining to a fabrication shop
- Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent safety record
