**Salary**: $3,147.32 to $4,235.37 bi-weekly ($82,145 - $110,543 / year)

Alberta Education supports students, parents, teachers and administrators from Early Childhood Service (ECS) through Grade 12. The Ministry has the following responsibilities: develop curriculum and set standards; evaluate curriculum and assess outcomes; teacher development and certification; supports students with diverse learning needs.

Within the Education Supports Sector, the Learner Supports Branch provides supports for programs and services that impact the education of students. This includes leadership and support to school authorities to address chronic absenteeism, supports for students from low incidence populations (blindness or visual impairment, deafness or hard of hearing, deafblindness and complex communication needs), and in administrative or dispute resolution requirements with school authorities. The Supports for Students with Visual Impairements (SSVI) unit provides resources to schools in the K to 12 education system for students who are blind or visually impaired is responsible for loaning student assistive technologies and alternative formats of student resources (including Braille).

**Role Responsibilities**:
As a Manager, Business Operation / SSVI, you will be responsible for:

- Ensuring that the business operations for the SSVI program areas are planned, managed, and evaluated to ensure applicable learning supports and services are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in alignment with strategic business plans and system needs.
- Providing leadership within the branch and manages the three business areas in the SSVI Unit: the assistive technology team, the braille resource team, and the library resource team.
- Supporting the Director and other senior representatives in achieving the branch and sector mandates.
- Ensuring that research and analysis-related information is developed and disseminated to Ministry representatives to ensure current understanding of how the technology supports the learning needs of students who are blind or visually impaired and to support informed planning and decision-making.
- Leading collaborative projects between different business areas in the Education Supports Sector, and across divisions.
- Supporting the Learner Supports Director and Senior Manager of Low Incidence Supports and Services in identifying needs and addressing emergent issues with respect to services and support for students with visual impairments.
- Collaborating with the Low Incidence Supports and Services Unit, and experts in the field to inform procurement of technologies and support rationale for procurement and loaning of technology.
- Ensuring that up-to-date information for internal and external stakeholders is available; working with Communications and Public Engagement, and identifying opportunities to incrementally improve information sharing with the field.

**Qualifications**:
University graduation, with preference for Business, Public Administratio
