**Position Title**:Early Childhood Educator

**Location**:Water View YMCA Child Care Center (Gastown)
- 3335 Webber Ln, Vancouver
- **Terms**: Permanent, Full-Time: 35-40 hours/week
- **Shift**:Monday to Friday, shifts rotating between 7:15am - 6:00pm
- **Rate**: $26.69 per hour for ECE/IT License, $27.66 per hour for ECE SN License to practice
- **Includes **$4 per hour Provincial Government’s Wage Enhancement)
- **Start Date**:As soon as possible
- **Reports To**: Team Lead, Child Care
- **Major Responsibilities**:

- Provide quality care and creative programming to children
- Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
- Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
- Deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
- Provide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areas
- Use our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updates
- Keep a clean and safe environment - in all program areas and common spaces (with enhanced cleaning protocols for COVID-19)
- Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standards

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Basic ECE certification from a program recognized in British Columbia
- Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Any training related to child growth and development is an asset
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained within 30 days after start date)
- 3 professional reference checks to be completed
- The YMCA has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy requiring all staff and volunteers to be fully vaccinated, as per the timeline set out by the province
