**Behaviour Intervention Educational Assistant**
2 positions - 30 hours weekly

Location: Vista Grande School

Commencing August 28, 2023

The primary responsibilities of this Educational Assistant position will be to work alongside the teacher in providing intensive behavioural support to a small group of students with complex social-emotional profiles. Students in this classroom may change during the course of the year as there will be flex-ibility for students to come from or return to their designated school as appropriate. The successful applicants will provide a learning environment that supports regulation and connection. The team will use purposeful activities to teach social skills, reduce anxiety, and assist students in feeling a sense of belonging and preparedness for learning.

**Required Skills**:

- Exemplary relational skills with both students and other adults in the school
- Exemplary communication skills
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
- Experience engaging with students with complex social-emotional and behavioural challenges
- A solution-focused strength-based outlook
- The ability to remain calm amidst stressful situations
- Educational Assistant certificate or equivalent education
