Operations Supervisor Edmonton

Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising the class 5 drivers and warehouse workers within the location of Edmonton. This person must be able to manager their own time accordingly and agree to work weekends or nights when needed.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as food or dry products
- Familiarity with using navigation systems (Samsara)
- Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule

**Education and Experience Requirements**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean driving record
- Power and Forklift Certificates
- Minimum of 5 (five) years Trucking industry experience
- Minimum of 2 (two) years Food Distribution experience
- Minimum of 2 (two) years Supervisory experience

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Set up all runs the day before delivery day
- Ensure all trucks are loaded properly byshipper/receivers
- Schedule all pickups with efficiency and limiting empty miles and hours
- Schedule all appointments for 5 Ton deliveries when needed
- Ensure all storage and cross dock paperwork is filled out correctly
- Ensure all drivers have correct POD’s and all signed paperwork is returned at end of the day
- Complete/fill out all needed Frozen Solid POD’s
- Supervise all pre/post trips and HOS using Samsara
- Complete all OSD reports
- Notify customers of delivery issues promptly
- Supervise and schedule all class 5 drivers and shipper receiver staff, ensuring driver and warehouse efficiencies as well as truck and warehouse cleanliness
- Supervise all shipper receiver and class 5 driver hours, ensuring balanced hours for all staff (check time sheets)
- Ensure all drivers are in compliance with carrier audit requirements
- Fill out all incident reports and report immediately to the Health and Safety Compliance Officer
- Verify employee timesheets are filled in correctly by cross checking with runsheets
- Create weekly Edmonton Employee Timesheet Summary for Human Resources
- Sort paperwork daily, checking for dates and signatures and send necessary paperwork daily to Calgary
- Track down missing paperwork
- Create weekly LCL Summaries for Invoicing to use
- Book all 5 Ton CVIPs and services, including reefers
- Calibration of all thermometers
- Recruitment and training of new drivers
- Complete New Hire Materials and On Boarding process
- Complete monthly safety meetings with required staff
- Complete all minor repairs on warehouse equipment and fleet
- Ensure upkeep on all warehouse equipment (battery levels, forklift etc.)
- Ensure any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving
- Ensure all drivers are kept safe while on the road
- Generate ongoing ideas for overall efficiencies, system changes, and policy changes

**Salary and Benefits**

The pay rate for this position is $56,680- $65,000 annually with 3 weeks’ Vacation and an Employee Health Benefit plan.
