Handyperson (Warranty Technician)

**Warranty Technician (Handyperson), Goderich, ON**

The Warranty Technician will address construction deficiencies after our homes are built.

Reporting to the Warranty Manager, the duties for this role will include completion and coordination of warranty work as per customer reports including drywall repairs, carpentry, paint, etc.

This is a full-time position that includes health and medical benefits, GRRSP-matching, Wellness Days and Volunteer Days.

**What you will be doing**:
Warranty Care:

- Assess, repair and eliminate warranted deficiency items as noted on Homeowner 30-day, 1st year, & 2nd year Warranty forms;
- Perform ‘hands-on’ repairs - high quality workmanship at a productive and efficient pace; with mínimal disruption to the homeowner.
- Advise of process to assign work to trades at a later date.
- Preparing materials required to complete service work prior to visiting homeowners.
- Schedule additional services with sub-trades;
Homeowner Experience:

- Review service warranty lists with homeowners - explaining process and timelines
- Ensure homeowner satisfaction is achieved in all facets, at all times while adhering to company objectives
- Respond and resolve Homeowner emergency calls such as roof, heating issues, or plumbing leaks

Other Duties:

- Ensure service vehicle maintenance is up to date and the interior is kept tidy

**Experience Required**:

- 5 years’ experience in residential/ commercial construction industry, or experience in the renovations / repairs business.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in multiple trades functions such as carpentry, drywall, painting, etc. is a requirement, as is knowledge of various tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and hold 40lbs
- Completion of High school education level or higher is required
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and clean driver’s abstract

**Nice to Have**:

- Similar experience working as a Warranty Technician in residential low-rise construction;
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Tarion Warranty Program and Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act;
- Working at Heights Certification
