Driver & Crematory Technician
- Full/Part-Time (30-40hrs/week)
- Location: This position combines on-site duties at our Gloucester & Woodlawn, ON locations, with travel for deceased pet transportation
- Salary: $20-$21/Hr depending on experience

We distinguish ourselves as a personalized pet funeral service, showing a real respect for the animals we take care of and offering support to families in their time of grief.

We are looking for someone to help transport deceased pets and their ashes to grieving families/veterinary clinics as well as assist our Woodlawn Site Supervisor with pet cremations anad cemetery maintenance at least two times a week.

Excellent customer service skills, a compassionate demeanor and the ability to work well in a team, are priorities and required assets.

This position requires a compassionate, motivated, and very organized individual who can keep calm under pressure and who is dedicated to treating all our families and their pets with dignity and respect.

We operate between two campuses in Ottawa: the Resting Paws Campus in Woodlawn, boasting a scenic country setting with a pet cemetery and crematorium, and the Neighborhood Memorial Centre in Gloucester, which does not host a crematorium, but acts as a boutique bringing our services and products closer to those on the East side of Ottawa.

With 2 additional locations in Québec, we serve both Ontario and Québec regions, providing personalized pet funeral services with a focus on respect and support for bereaved families.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with pet cremations and maintain cemetery grounds.
- Provide compassionate support to grieving families.
- Safely transport deceased pets with care and respect.
- Perform special services such as creating paw prints.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in all documentation.
- Welcome and assist families in arranging pet funerals.
- Handle deceased animals with utmost respect and dignity.
- Maintain documentation and uphold safety standards.
- Ensure empathetic and positive customer experiences.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Strong team player with flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in English and French.
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work with machinery and adhere to safety protocols.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to lift/move heavy objects and work in various conditions.

**Working Conditions**:

- Regularly bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, sitting
- Regular lifting/moving 100+ lbs.
- Regularly exposed to elevated noise and heat levels.
- Regular handling of deceased pets.
- Use of heavy machinery
