Intermediate Drafting Technician

Norco Trailer Mfg. Ltd. is a family owned and operated modular building manufacturer looking to hire a Drafting Technologist to join our growing team.
**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
- Help in the development of architectural designs.
- Analyze building codes, bylaws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents
- Prepare manual and CAD (computer-assisted design) drawings, specifications, cost estimates and listings of quantities of material from conceptual drawings and instructions
- Build architectural, display, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs
- Supervise drafters, technicians and technologists on the architectural team
- Oversee construction projects and coordinate, monitor and inspect work done by others
- Work closely with the design manager, and sales contacts for projects.
- The designer role focuses on building sciences including design, building codes, coordination and integration of building systems (MEP&S) and materials and methods of construction.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-Secondary Diploma or degree from an accredited school or Architectural Technology Program
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in the design/architectural/engineering industry
- Training in architectural technology, building technical design and construction
- Experience in construction is considered valuable
- Experience in modular construction/design is desirable
- Advanced knowledge of Building Codes
- Experience in preparation of design and construction drawings, and specifications
- Contract administration and Field Review experience is an asset
- Have a proven track record of maintaining high quality standards while working to tight deadlines
- The individual will be self-motivated, with high initiative and very detail oriented with a strong work ethic and will contribute to the overall success of the firm.
**SKILLS**:
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required
- Understanding of modular construction details
- Strong organization and time-management skills to work on several projects concurrently.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Effective technical, leadership and mentoring skills, while taking direction from senior positions.
- Ability to manage project resources, costs and schedules
- Ability to work well with a team and independently
- Competence in coordination with design consultants
- Strong analytical and problem
- Solving skills who works well under pressure with a positive attitude
Pay: $26.00-$38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
