The role of the Accounting Officer is to provide financial analyst and support services to the ministry including policy and procedures expertise, compliance reviews, research, analysis, reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheet monitoring, expenditure monitoring, reconciliation, facilitation of corrections, corporate card administration, employee exit monitoring, and training.

**Job Requirements**:

- Completion of a Diploma or Degree in the field of Accounting, Financial Management, Commerce, Economics, or Business Administration AND a minimum one year of related experience OR
- Completion of Level 2 or higher of the Chartered Professional Accountant program (CPA) or legacy (CA, CGA, CMA) program AND a minimum one year of related experience OR
- Completion of Level 2 or higher of the Province of British Columbia Financial Management Certificate Program AND a minimum one year of related experience OR
- Completion of post-secondary studies that include financial or accounting courses AND a minimum of two years of related experience OR
- Completion of Secondary School (GED) or equivalent AND a minimum five years of related experience.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of one (1) year experience in account reconciliation and/or accounts payable and/or accounts receivable and/or invoicing and billing.
- Experience in preparing and analyzing financial information/data and developing financial reports and summaries for supervisor/manager use.

**Preference may be given for**:

- Experience with one or more of the following: Corporate Financial Services (CFS) Modules (AP, AR, GL, iExpenses, FA), CFS Data Warehouse, ORACLE Web Form Reports (WFRs), Oracle Analytics System (OAS), or the MCFD CDW Portal.
- Experience with government financial policies and procedures.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
