**Position Highlights**
Who we areWe are the Capital Projects team within an arm of BC Hydro - Operations called Program and Contract
Management (PCM). PCM Capital Projects delivers a range of Distribution (Lines) and Stations related projects. Our team is
made up of a diverse group of approximately 65 professionals. We carry a load of 550 projects in various delivery phases,
worth a total of $1B. Our team currently delivers $180M per year with plans to grow.

leadership role? The PCM Capital Projects team has a regionally based, full time regular T&D Program Manager 2 position
headquartered at Edmonds.

**What you'll do**
- Lead and coach a team of 6-12 Work Program and Project Managers with various experience levels to successfully track

and deliver on Capital Projects and Programs in the Lower Mainland South (LMS) region.
- Provide project and program delivery oversight and leadership of various Distribution project types: System Improvement

and Customer Driven Interconnections, of various sizes ($50k to $50M) consisting of short cycle to standard delivery, with a
mix of consultant and staff project teams through design and construction phases.
- Manages team of project managers to successfully track and deliver on assigned projects throughout the province,

drawing on internal and external multidisciplinary resources that include Stakeholder Relations, Indigenous Relations,
Engineering, Environment, Finance, Regulatory, Properties, Operations, Legal Counsel, Safety, etc. to successfully deliver
on a large program of Capital Projects.
- Maintain close relations with the Integrated Planning and Interconnections Managers, Customer Care, customers, and

other stakeholders to anticipate and plan for upcoming projects and adjust in flight project priorities as required.
- Participate with Integrated Planning in the process for the annual and quarterly release of projects and ensure there are

adequate internal and external project manager resources with the appropriate skill set to deliver projects.
- Provide expert advice and support to team members in the planning and execution of their projects to ensure there are

adequate strategies, budgets and plans for resourcing, procurement, regulatory, safety management, environmental
management, quality management, risk management, Indigenous Relations, stakeholder engagement, etc. as required for
achieving scope, schedule, cost and other required performance indicators.
- Actively promote and support the development of team members through regular feedback and provide guidance and

support for their personal development plans and year specific objectives.
- Provide team leadership by collaborating with other Business Units and holding project teams accountable for project

results. Remove barriers to project level issues and resolves escalations concerning project or resourcing issues.
Encourage a “One Hydro” approach to teamwork by drawing on other’s successes and sharing best practices across BC
Hydro.
- Provide guidance on the PPM practice, project planning, supply chain strategies, problem solving and work smart

opportunities.- Ensures the quality of project documentation is aligned with the intent of the PPM/PCM Practice and reflective of the

complexity and risks of the project.- Manage the flow and resourcing of staff and consultant project manager resources with the appropriate skill level to

deliver the projects in the capital plan for the program.- Demonstrates consistent creativity/innovation in designing/ implementing/ recommending new processes/ projects;
stimulates creative thinking across the project team and organization- Supports the project team and may lead high profile, sensitive and complex consultations and hearings with customers,

regulators, municipal and provincial government and crown corporations, interest groups, the public, and other stakeholders
- on a variety of issues of significant importance to BC Hydro.- Travel to meet with operations staff, construction management, First Nations and stakeholder groups, in support of the

project managers, during the planning, design and construction phases of a project.- Frequently represents BC Hydro as the “Contract Owner” or the “Hydro Rep” on construction or equipment contracts.

Support project teams to reduce BC Hydro’s exposure to contract claims and participate in contract and claim negotiations
- with suppliers and contractors.- Review and approve time and expense claims, leave and rotation requests, travel requests, financial commitments and

payments to FAAP limits.- Regularly meet as a management team (with colleagues) to discuss common issues, strategies, succession planning,

development, lessons learned, workload, resourcing, recruitme
