**Shift**: 5am - 130 pm, 830am - 5 pm,

**Job Scope**: This position will perform the daily operation tasks of the HTSTs including Start up and End of Day Duties.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Care for HTST units and associated equipment like pasteurizers, silos and tanks
- Properly set up, sanitize / CIP and COP, maintain, operate and clean equipment
- Monitor product for efficiencies (i.e. composition, Quantity)
- Assist in preparation of product mixes (batching production runs / allocation of silo’s)
- Operate automated processing equipment, including product formulation through ingredient preparation, weight monitoring, mixing and pasteurizing.
- Blend product according to formulations and complete necessary documentation.
- Monitor related inventories to equipment (essential and spare parts, etc.).
- Accurately prepare assigned paperwork (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly assignments)
- Conduct quarterly preventative maintenance and cleaning (on weekend).
- Monitor and perform routine checks of systems to ensure lines are running smoothly
- Cross-train to learn how to use equipment and machinery in various areas of the plant (Milk Receiving)
- Provide relief coverage for other machine operators/plant helpers
- Work with your personal safety and the safety of your coworkers, customers and plant visitors in mind
- Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs & other training materials provided
- Attend prescribed courses and training as required

**Competencies and Qualifications**:

- Minimum high school diploma and/or relevant food or dairy processing experience
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including excellent sanitary habits and possess knowledge of HACCP and HTST pasteurizing systems as applied to a dairy processing plant
- Plant Milk and Cream Graders’ certificate and HTST pasteurizer course considered an asset
- Mathematical competency and reasoning ability
- Ability to be flexible in terms of shift work and perform other duties as required
- Physically capable of performing the demands of the job and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal
- Mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting abilities

**Working environment**:Regular exposure to noise, cold temperatures, humidity and dry conditions. Continuous exposure to hazardous machines, moving objects (forklifts) and frequent interruptions. Occasional exposure to dust and extreme temperatures. (Freezer -18 degrees)

**Physical Demands**:Standing and walking for considerable length of time. Moderate lifting of materials, up to maximum 25 kg.
