**The Opportunity**:
The Divisions of Pediatric General Surgery and Pediatric Urology at the IWK (6 surgeons) are seeking for a Research Coordinator
- 1.0 FTE (time shared equally between the two Divisions). The goal is to assist members of both divisions with existing and new clinical research projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- To assist medical students, graduate students, residents, and fellows with onboarding to participate in clinical research projects conducted by members of the Divisions of Pediatric General Surgery and Pediatric Urology at the IWK. This includes but is not limited to credentialing with Research / Volunteer Services, proposal writing, ethics training.
- To oversee ethics submissions and renewals for research projects conducted within both divisions at the IWK.
- To oversee submission of contracts and data transfer agreements for projects associated with research consortia such as CANCORPS, PUC, PSORC, Canadian IBD and others.
- To oversee enrolment of patients and data collection pertaining to clinical research projects conducted by members of the Divisions of Pediatric General Surgery and Pediatric Urology at the IWK.
- To ensure compliance with confidentiality / data housing policies of large databases, such as CIHI, CYP-C and others as they relate to clinical research projects conducted by members of the Divisions of Pediatric General Surgery and Pediatric Urology at the IWK.
- To organize and participate in Research Rounds on a bimonthly basis to update faculty members on the progress of ongoing projects and discuss new ideas.

**Hours of Work**:
Monday - Friday, 8.0 hours with 7.5 hours work (paid 30 mins break plus unpaid breaks)

**Your Qualifications**:

- BSc degree in a health-related field
- 1 + years previous experience working in a clinical setting
- Experience with database management
- Working knowledge of database software platforms such as REDCap
- Previous experience with multi-national research would be an asset
- Experience with the ethics research board submission process an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Superior organizational and time management skills
- Capable of working independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
- Skilled with standard computer programs including the MS Office suite
- Understanding of medical terminology as well as standard clinical procedures and protocols
- Prior experience training and mentoring staff members is preferred
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset, but not required
- Knowledge of statistics is an asset, but not required.
