**Bookkeeper (Permanent Part-time)**
A strong bookkeeping background, including a proficiency with accounting and spreadsheet programs are a necessity. Being detail oriented, organized, able to learn quickly, work independently and also as a team player are a given.
Reporting directly to the President, your primary responsibilities will be to accurately manage, using general accepted accounting principles, the Accounts Receivable and Payable including government remittance forms; all aspects of Payroll; record maintenance, clerical work and data entry as required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing/Managing Accounts Receivable, including collections of overdue accounts
- Processing/Managing Accounts Payable
- Payroll Administration & Reconciliation including T4’s and ROE’s
- Processing and remitting HST, WSIB, and source deductions
- Preparing and making bank deposits
- Data input including sales, receipts, purchases and disbursements
- General Ledger reconciliations including bank accounts, credit cards and clearing accounts
- Month-end and year-end closings and financial reports
- Preparing the books and assembling all necessary documents for the accountant at fiscal year
- end; completing adjusting entries supplied by the accountant
- Communicating with vendors and customers as needed
- Miscellaneous tasks such as filing, shopping for shop and office supplies
Required Experience & Skills:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in accounting/bookkeeping
- 3 years or more of bookkeeping experience adhering to general accepted accounting principles
- Proficiency with A/P, A/R, bank and G/L reconciliation, payroll
- Proficiency with Business Visions accounting program (Sage), Excel and MS Word
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent English written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; French is an asset
- Reliable and organized, able to consistently meet deadlines
