**We do all of your training with you.** **Make a difference with the Canadian Armed Forces Naval Reserve in Newfoundland.** **As a Boatswain you are responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the ship’s rigging, shipboard cargo handling equipment, boats and small craft.** **Boatswains are the seamanship specialists of the Canadian Armed Forces.**

This position is available for part-time employment with the Primary Reserve at HMCS CABOT in St John's NL. Reserve Force members usually serve part time at a UNIT near their community, and may serve while going to school or working at a civilian job. They are paid during their training. They are not posted or required to do a military move. However, they can volunteer to move to another base. They may also volunteer for deployment on a military mission within or outside Canada.
- be a Canadian Citizen
- be 16 years of age or older (with parental or guardian consent if under 18)
- be a Canadian citizen
- meet Canadian Armed Forces medical standards
- Completed grade 10
- successfully complete selection process, interview and examinations
- pass physical fitness tests
