**Construction Project Manager, Edmonton, AB**

Our client is seeking a full-time Construction Project Manager to provide administrative and technical direction for commercial and large residential construction projects of various sizes, ranging from commercial tenant improvements to apartment building construction. The Construction Project Manager will lead customer interface, project development, project scoping, scheduling, procurement, construction oversight, safety oversight, cost and progress monitoring, management and reporting.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare all project start up documents and procedures from receipt of a new contract confirmation.
- Ensure the schedule is in place during project set up / sub-bidding and reflects the project strategy.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Develop a purchasing schedule and strategy to anticipate, address and resolve purchasing challenges during the early stages of pre-construction.
- Execute each project phase including pre-construction, construction, closeout and post-construction services.
- Collaborate with Estimating and Purchasing in set up of projects to ensure profitability, client satisfaction and that the best subcontractors are secured for the job, as well as for vendor selection.
- Work in partnership with the Site Superintendent to maintain an updated and accurate schedule.
- Conduct thorough analysis of all financial data to quickly identify issues that could lead to negative financial performance.
- Effectively administer the requisitioning and collections process to ensure timely payments.
- Maintain and develop relationships to reinforce a commitment to excellent customer service across all stakeholders, including co-workers, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the design community.
- Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors and consistently modelling and instilling this philosophy in the project team.
- Communicate effectively with field team members as well as keeping them active in decision-making. Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing on project pursuits and deliver support as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- 5-8 years of experience in construction management with a general contractor.
- Experience with commercial and large residential renovations preferred.
- Experience with contracts, subcontracts, estimating, and soliciting quotes.
- Experience supporting and promoting industry safety standards.
- Proven experience managing others is highly desirable.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and time management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Office Suite, BuilderTrend and other construction related software.
- Solution-oriented mentality with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively is critical.
