**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**:
**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Designs, implements and maintains the information architecture of the enterprise data warehouse.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives, together with developers, business leaders and other key stakeholders, to identify data-improvement opportunities, recommend system changes and develop related data-governance standards.
- Applies data modelling and dimensioning techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
- Proposes solutions for simplification or optimization of data structures within the data warehouse environment.
- Establishes naming conventions and data standards to ensure consistency across reference data sets.
- Defines and implements data quality checks and validation rules in collaboration with data owners, to ensure that master data is accurate and consistent.
- Elaborates and implements a transactional data retention and archiving policy in collaboration with key stakeholders and their leadership, to ensure that data is retained for the appropriate length of time and can be easily accessed if needed.
- Supports change-management activities for implemented solutions; maintains and updates global data warehouse documentation, communicates changes and provides end-user support and training related to these.
- Keeps own skills up to date, performs technology watch and stays abreast of recent developments in the industry on a technical level, and actively participates in discussions about adopting them within the NFB.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technologies or equivalent;
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in role with data architecture, business intelligence solutions or database administration responsibilities;
- Certification in a recognized analytics and data-management field is an asset;
- Experience working as part of multidisciplinary teams and leading data process improvement initiatives, making recommendations to management related to system changes and data-governance standards;
- Understands distinctions between reference data, master data and transactional data and specific ways to manage them;
- Ample experience in normalization and dimensional modelling;
- Experience in managing historical data and slowly changing dimensions;
- Experience using Data Transformation Services (DTS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or similar technologies;
- Serious experience with SQL RDBMS such as SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle within on-premises or Cloud infrastructure;
- Experience with NoSQL DBMS such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis;
- Experience with data lakes, API-based data-ingestion technologies, Dataedo or similar data-cataloging tools;
- Bilingualism in the official languages (French and English), both orally and in writing.
