**Role Responsibilities**
- Service, repair and maintain a variety of mobile equipment such as; dozers, forklifts, front end loaders, excavators, cranes and other types of equipment.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components from; hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of issue and corrective action required.
- Maintain records of equipment repaired and time spent repairing equipment.
- Determine the condition of equipment by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests. Identify worn and damaged parts.
- Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine extent of repairs required.
- Use appropriate tools to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems.
- Test and repair equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
- Maintain a schedule for preventative maintenance such as lubrication, replacement of tires and tune ups on all equipment.
- Assists other mechanics and trades as required.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedure to ensure work adheres to all organization’s and manufacture’s safety standards.

**Role Requirements**
- Must hold an Alberta or Interprovincial Heavy-Duty Mechanic Journeyperson Certificate.
- 5 years’ experience working in the trade.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Be a motivated, self-starting team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good problem-solving abilities and basic computer skills.
- Ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot.
- Knowledge and skill in meeting deadlines with multiple duties and tasks.
- Ability to work under pressure, changing priorities, deadlines, and adapt to change.

**Working Conditions**
- Must be comfortable working from heights, cold or warm atmospheres.
- Must be able and willing to work shift.
