**ROOM ATTENDANT**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide turndown service to required guestrooms in accordance with established standards.
- Clean remaining unmade rooms per standards as directed. May be required to refresh others and/or replenish supplies. Cleaning includes dusting furniture and vacuuming flooring, draperies and furniture.
- Serve as runner to guestrooms to deliver items as requested by the guests and providing information on facilities if asked by guests.
- Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean, organized and safe condition.
- Report any service discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor to resolve where possible and input information into Rex system, including start times finish times and status of the room
- Report any lost and found items to manager or supervisor.
- Picking up debris and emptying trash containers in rooms.
- Report any safety or security discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized work and public areas and guest rooms i.e. sweeping, mopping, waxing and polishing floors, cleaning and disinfecting elevators, and washing windows, walls and ceilings, as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in fitness centre i.e. locker rooms, showers.
- Assist with replenishing linen closets and housekeeping carts.
- Assist with guest complaints.
- Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Requires the ability to handle basic communication, both verbal and written. All reporting is done in English.
- Must feel comfortable in speaking with guests and capable of helping them with information.
- Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge. Must be willing to learn to utilize the Rex System for the inputting of room statistics such as start times finish times and status of the room.
- Working knowledge of applicable sanitation standards.
- Must project a confident attitude and friendly personality.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
- Previous work experience of working in a hotel and/or cleaning is an asset.

Proof of vaccination will be required, in accordance with the Company’s mandatory vaccination policy, which may be amended from time to time. The Company may exempt you from providing proof of vaccination upon being satisfied that you qualify for accommodation from being vaccination against COVID-19 under British Columbia’s _Human Rights Code_.

**Language of Work**:English. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. This position requires adequate communication skills, both verbal and written, to be able to handle basic communication in the day-to-day tasks

**Wage**:$28.00/hour

**Work Hours**: 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required from time to time and overtime will be paid in accordance with British Columbia _Employment Standards Act_

- Paid Vacation: Starting at 2 weeks’ vacation (ten business days) at 4% vacation accrual of current pay period’s total Wages;

- RRSP: After twelve (12) months of completed service, you will be eligible to participate in the Company’s RRSP matching program.
