The** Winding Operator **is responsible for setting up and running the winding machine, ensuring proper operation based on setup instructions and technical specifications. This role involves loading control media or inputting commands to retrieve programmed data for machine operations, ensuring accuracy and smooth production processes.

**In this role you will**:

- Operate winding machine, including:

- Loading programs into the machine and execute program.
- Loading the raw materials (e.g., prepregs, fiber spool, etc.)
- Setting up the machine for winding.
- Monitoring the operating of the machine to ensure proper program performance.
- Prepare and set up mandrels for production.
- Operate ovens and monitor the curing process of winded parts as required.
- Verify part accuracy using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other metrology equipment per work instructions and customer specifications.
- Ensure proper machine operation and report any issues or suspected issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Identify and address nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Manage time
- and temperature-sensitive materials.
- Support development activities and onboarding of new programs.
- Propose improvements to manufacturing processes.
- Perform self-quality checks during the production process.
- Record production and inspection results per work instructions.
- Meet production schedule and requirements.

**You have**:

- Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- High attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, quick learner.
- Ability to use power tools, cutting tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and/or blueprints and follow demonstrated steps.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Manual dexterity/coordination.
- Physical demands include lifting and moving material weighing up to 50lbs and wearing personal protective equipment.
- Organizational skills: ability to keep track of various parts and job orders and manage time spent on different tasks.
- Cleanliness: ability to keep a clean workspace (parts can be sensitive to foreign materials).
- Safety-Minded approach: put safety first and realize how important it is to take care around certain machinery/equipment.
- Must be willing to perform other functions and duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Must be willing to work any shift and overtime (as requested).
