Drillers Helper

GrassRoots Drilling is actively recruiting for a Driller's Helper. This is an opportunity to learn how to safely work around various drilling rigs and support environmental, geotechnical, and remedial investigations. We ask that all applicants be physically fit and willing to learn. On the job training will be provided, and growth opportunities are available. Reporting to the Driller and Operations Manager, the drillers helper is responsible for:

- placing and pulling augers, rods, and related drilling tools
- assisting to set up the drill and safe work area
- preparing equipment for deployment
- cleaning and maintaining drilling equipment, assisting with repairs
- setting and installing monitoring wells, vapour probes, and injection wells
- operating pumps, compressors, small power tools
- learning and operating a mobile water treatment plant
- completing inspection checklists and health and safety documentation

**Requirements**:

- must be physically fit and able to manage the physical demands of the job (heavy lifting, pulling, carrying)
- must have a valid BC class 5 drivers license and provide current drivers abstract
- a valid first aid certificate is a benefit
- may be required to obtain a criminal record check and/or drug test screening (project specific)

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
