Youth Employment Program Participant

Guelph, Canada 2nd Chance Employment Counselling (Guelph Location) Full time

**Phase 1**:Paid in Class Training (virtual and in person)
- Receive job skills and life skills training that will help to prepare you to enter into the workforce
- Uncover your personal and professional skills and strengths
- Master your interview skills.
- Some opportunities to earn certifications in First Aid/CPR, and Health and Safety/WHMIS.

**Phase 2**: Paid Work Placement
- Complete a job placement with an employer which will provide you with practical work experience. This placement must be in line with your current work skills, qualifications and abilities.

**Qualifications/ Requirements**
- Between the ages of 15-30 years old*
- Able to commit to paid training and wanting to work
- Unemployed or working less than 15 hours/week
- Not enrolled in full time secondary or post-secondary education
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

**Hours/ Compensation**:

- $15.50 per hour for pre-employment training
- Financial support for child care, transportation, food, work clothing, and equipment costs is available as needed
- Placement will be paid by employer at a competitive wage

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 10-35 per week

**Salary**: $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay

COVID-19 considerations:

- Masks must been worn
- In person meetings are scheduled to ensure proper social distancing within the office space
- Daily screening by staff and clients that are attending in-person programming/meetings
- Hourly cleaning of high traffic/high touch areas
