Behaviour Interventionist

Burnaby, Canada Home Team Full time

We are seeking to hire a behaviour interventionist (BI) to work with a 7-year-old autistic girl in her home. Sessions will be 2 times per week (possibly Mondays and Saturdays). Each session will be 2-hours in duration.

**Job Requirements**
- Interested in, and looking to pursue, a career in behaviour analysis, psychology, education, special education, speech language pathology, occupational therapy, or other related fields
- Enjoy interacting with children
- Physically fit and active, fun, creative, patient, reliable, punctual, organized, detail-oriented, and great communication skills
- Able to commit to working for a minimum of one year
- Reliable transportation: Able to commute to the training clinic in Burnaby and to the client's home in Burnaby (Note: No compensation for travel)
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- 19 years of age or older and can work legally in Canada
- Able to pass a criminal record check
- Have a valid Emergency Childcare First Aid and CPR Level B certificate

**Job Duties**
- Attend training sessions and take notes
- Build rapport with the client
- Read previous session notes, plan activities, and set up materials at the beginning of sessions
- Implement program procedures as outlined
- Record data as instructed to monitor client progress
- Complete session notes at the end of sessions
- Organize and maintain program binders and materials
- Update target skills lists
- Actively participate in team meetings with parents and supervisor
- Attend overlap sessions
- Receive feedback from supervisors and follow through with recommendations
- Maintain client confidentiality and follow ethical guidelines

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 4 per week

**Salary**: $16.00-$21.00 per hour
