**The position is available and open to Indigenous persons, youth, new immigrants, and persons with disabilities.**

We are looking for a person interested in working FULL TIME as a Live-in Home Child Care provider for the Shamsi Family in their private household.

**The objective**: To support the parents in their daily life with their children. The person will be present to accompany the children in their awakening and development but will also be available to support the parents in certain household tasks. The family counts on you to look after the safety, well-being, and personal development of the children. Help maintain the family balance with light household chores.

**Skill and Employment Requirements**:

- Completion of secondary school
- Completion of 6 months caregiver training program in childcare,
- or a related field or 1-year experience in childcare
- Criminal Record Check is mandatory.
- Non-Smoking mandatory.

**Desired Profile**:

- Knowledge of English or French
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and know-how.
- Patient and sensitive to the needs of others
- Responsible and autonomous person.
- Possess a driver's license (an asset not mandatory)
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to be diplomatic and empathetic.
- Ability to cook (Persian meals an asset not mandatory)
- Be punctual and reliable.

**Start Date**: as soon as possible.

**Main Duties**:

- Travel with family on trips and assist with children supervision and housekeeping duties,
- Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents,
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home,
- Take children to and from school and to appointments and after-school activities
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents,
- Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children.
- Instruct younger children in personal hygiene and social development.
- Organize, activities such as games and outings for children,
- Supervise and care for children,
- Tend to the emotional well-being of children,
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties.
- General maintenance of daily use equipment such as refrigerator, stoves, bathtub, sink, pantry, and floors.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms.
- Make and change the bedding.
- Washing and ironing clothes.

**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**:

- Repetitive tasks
- Light lifting
- Occasional long hours when travelling

**Salary**: You will earn a salary/hour of $16,00, less applicable deductions, payable bi-monthly.

**Hours of Work**: Your normal hours of work will be 40 hours per week, depending on your parents' work and study schedule. You will get two days off a week depending on your employer’s schedule.

**Overtime**: The Overtime Pay Rate will be 1.5 times your hourly wage after 40 hours of work per week, or $24,00/hour. There may be times when you are required to work overtime.

**Vacation**: You will be entitled to 2 weeks of paid vacation per year, which is the equivalent of 4% of your annual salary depending on years of service. You will accumulate two weeks of vacation per calendar year, or a proportionate number for partial years of employment.

**Other**: Employer will provide a phone, sim card, bus pass, food and lodging (in their home)

Nous sommes à la recherche d'une personne intéressée à travailler à TEMPS PLEIN en tant qu’aide familiale -résident soins à l'enfant pour la famille Shamsi dans leur domicile privé.

**L'objectif** : Soutenir les parents dans leur vie quotidienne avec leurs enfants. La personne sera présente pour accompagner les enfants dans leur éveil et leur développement mais sera également disponible pour soutenir les parents dans certaines tâches ménagères. La famille compte sur vous pour veiller à la sécurité, au bien-être et à l'épanouissement des enfants. Participez au maintien de l'équilibre familial en effectuant des tâches ménagères légères.
