**Job Description**:
This position will be responsible for supporting the Benefits Team
- Entering new employees into HRIS, Sun Life and HOOPP systems for benefits/pension
- Closing the staffing file by ensuring that the file contains all necessary material and entering pertinent information for new hires, demographic changes, etc. into the HRIS
- Receiving, verifying and processing information received from employees and managers related to demographic changes, changes in salary, etc.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of different eligibility requirements and benefits packages

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of a Human Resources Degree or Diploma/Certificate Program
- 1-2 years' experience with data entry into HRIS/Payroll systems, HR reporting required
- Recent experience with benefit administration including processing benefit enrolments etc.
- Experience with MediHR and Meditech preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of employment legislation and collective agreement administration
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment
- Highly motivated and results-oriented, able to work in a fast paced environment
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely proactive in meeting customer needs
- Ability to interact and work well with others
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required
- Demonstrated attention to detail and mathematical aptitude
- Must possess strong time management and organizational skills to be able to successfully manage tight deadlines and payroll cutoffs
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills needed; as well as strong attention to detail
