**The Opportunity**

**Job Title: ELT Instructor**
**Department: Language Training & Settlement Services (LTSS)**
**Locations: Hybrid / Burlington (in-person Wednesday's only)**
**Start Date: January 4, 2024**
**Hours of Work: 25 hours / week**
**Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 2:30pm**
**Reports To: LINC Coordinator**

**These are your responsibilities**:

- Deliver program based on established ELT syllabus and outcomes;
- Adapt delivery to suit client needs when appropriate;
- Teach online classes according to expectations, which include synchronous and asynchronous instruction, and provide one-on-one consultation when needed;
- Organize and coordinate practice interview sessions with other Instructors and Centre for Skills’ staff;
- Organize guest speakers and events based on relevant topics and required workplace skills;
- Liaise with Employment Specialists and Workforce Development Specialists regarding students’ job search;
- Create or re-invent program content and materials according to changing labour market trends;
- Perform administrative tasks, including class attendance, monthly reports and evaluation letters; and,
- Attend staff, department and other meetings as required.

**What you need to bring to this job**:

- TESL Ontario certified and familiar with Canadian Language Benchmarks;
- Post-secondary education/training in Education, social sciences or related field;
- Aware of current market and workplace trends, especially as related to Internationally Trained Professionals;
- Demonstrated ability to provide an effective, stimulating learning environment for adults;
- Culturally sensitive; experience with clients from a diverse background;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
- Experience with workplace training, ESL workplace training and/or experience in professional practice or industry an asset
