Production Material Technician Ii

**How will you make an impact?**
Work closely with Lead Production Material Technician and Group Leader Production Technicians, Production Technicians, Packaging and Warehouse staff to ensure the daily packaging schedule is supported from a materials perspective. Ensure materials are accurately reconciled in a timely manner during production and reconciliation are entered in the ERP system.
Shift schedule: 8 hours/day, monthly rotation, days, afternoons and nights
- Day shift: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM
Afternoon shift: 3 PM - 11:30 PM
Night shift: 11 PM - 7 AM
**What will you do?**
- Supply materials to the packaging lines under supervision of Production Material Technician III.
- Assist Production Material Technician III and observes how to enter Finished Goods in the ERP system.
- Assist Production Material Technician III on the monitoring of the schedule to ensure packaging jobs are staged and delivered in a timely manner.
- Observe the Production Material Technician III to learn how the Production Material Technicians work with the warehouse staging personnel to ensure the effective release, staging and flow of materials.
- Exposed to accuracy in counting and reconciling of packaging jobs, starts basic reconciliations.
- Perform general housekeeping of packaging/processing area.
- Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
- Perform alternating or rotating shift work.
**How will you get here**:
**Education**:
High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required.
**Experience**:
Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse environment preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or food processing plant.
Previous experience with manual and electrical lift trucks would be an asset.
**Equivalency**_:_
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
**Knowledge, **Skills,** and Abilities**:
Mathematical aptitude. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Detail oriented and organized, with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations. Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Proficiency with the English language.
**Standards and Expectations**:
Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Work harmoniously with fellow team members, modelling positive team principles and partnering to meet project and departmental objectives. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality Sops and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines of deliverables in a proactive manner. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.
**Physical Requirements**:
Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes, or odour. Use of Personal Protective equipment is required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator.
