**About this opportunity**

We are currently seeking two **Financial Clerks **to join our Finance team. These two positions report directly to the Executive Director.

**Take an inside look at what you’ll do each day**
- Maintaining financial records, reconciliation of accounts, ensuring the compliance of applicable regulations, preparing financial reports, payroll processing, data entry, making required changes to Health and Pension Benefits as required, data security, and assisting in the yearly budget.
- Banking Transactions: Financial clerks handle various banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and fund transfers. You may also assist with reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Payment Processing: Financial clerks may process payments received from clients. You record payment details, update accounts receivable, and issue receipts. You may also handle electronic payment methods and credit card transactions.
- Paying vendors, and processing payments for vendors
- Preparing and booking journal entries required to reflect the agency’s activities.
- Working closely with the other Financial Clerk and members of the office.
- Communicating with Field Staff and clients occasionally.
- Performing account reconciliations and audits.
- Reconciling general ledger accounts to sub-ledger and supporting documentation, as assigned.
- Working with the Executive Director and the other Financial Clerk to support monthly reporting, quarterly financial statements preparation and other reporting deliverables.
- Participating in the ongoing improvement of existing processes and systems.
- Other duties as assigned.

**What you need to be successful**
- Minimal high school equivalency plus two years of office, bookkeeping and accounting experience and or a degree in Business/ Accounting/ Finance program or a completed college diploma.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn other software products as required.
- Experience with SAGE, ADP, EXCEL and other software products would be an asset.
- Detail-oriented, enjoy working with numbers and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong work ethic, ability to deliver work on time, prioritize workflow and meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication skills.
- Work as an effective member of a team as well as independently.
- Proven ability to work with confidential information with professionalism and tact.
