Monday to Friday, 0700-1500 hours

**SALARY**:
VP Pay Range 101 - $65.14 to $81.42 per hour

Responsible for providing management support and training to the Information Management supervisory team.

**Essential Duties**
- Conducts performance development reviews and addresses performance issues
- Participates in progressive discipline process and grievance handling
- Manages the day to day business affairs of assigned units
- Develops and approves policies and procedures within assigned business units
- Participates in the selection and hiring process for assigned units and prepares the interview and written tests for the competition
- Participates in internal and external committees and meetings
- Conducts internal audits to ensure business practices are current and relevant
- Co-ordinates the quarterly and year-end reports
- Writes business case reports as required
- Assists Director in long term planning and budget preparation
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:
**REQUIRED**:

- Extensive knowledge of VPD police records management system (PRIME)
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of management related to office management, records management, human resource management and budgetary control
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management and government officials
- Proven supervision, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to analyse problems and determine appropriate action
- Excellent resource and time management skills
- Ability to express ideas effectively in written and oral form
- Ability to make sound judgments and recommendations regarding best business practices.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships in a team environment

**PREFERRED**:

- Working knowledge of JUSTIN, SAP, WMS, CPIC, DEMS

**EXPERIENCE**:
**REQUIRED**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a police records management environment
- Minimum 2 years’ RFT experience in supervising/managing staff in a unionized environment

**EDUCATION**:
**REQUIRED**:

- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related studies
- Courses in Leadership

**PREFERRED**:

- Courses in Business Writing

**OTHER REQUIREMENT(S)**:

- All employees must maintain their Enhanced Security Clearance while employed with the Vancouver Police Department. Enhanced Security Clearances will be renewed every 5 years
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
- There is no opportunity for remote work. Employees are required to work on
- site/in office
- Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
