**POSITION**: Nordic Outdoor Operations Staff

**REPORTS TO**: Supervisor, Outdoor Operations

**LOCATION**: Raven Lodge

**STATUS**:Full-time & Part-time positions available

**Primary Objectives**:
Duties include assisting with all outdoor operational responsibilities such as trail maintenance, signage, guiding, ticket checking and toboggan area supervision. Nordic Outdoor Operations staff must be efficient, maintain a high level of safety awareness, and demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as quickly develop an in-depth knowledge of the resort and its products.

**Responsibilities**:
**Specific**:

- Daily building safety checks of the Raven Lodge.
- Clearing snow from all walkways and decks.
- Lead snowshoe tours as Snowshoe Guide as and when needed.
- Supporting the Rental department on a regular basis.
- Checking guests for valid trail passes.
- Supervising the toboggan area.
- Assisting with end-of-day trail sweeps.
- Setting up and maintaining trail signage on Cross-Country, Snowshoe and Fat Bike trails.
- Maintain the Snowshoe and Fat Bike trails, reporting any hazards to the Supervisors/Manager.

**General**:
This is a basic outline of day-to-day responsibilities. Adjustments will be made if necessary to reflect the needs and expectations of the Mt. Washington Alpine Resort management team:

- Be the ‘face’ of the Nordic area and a point of contact for guests.
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of in-house departments and products.
- Be prepared to switch location at no notice depending on guest volume and weather.

**Expectations**:

- Outdoor Operations must adhere to the policies and procedures of Mount Washington Alpine Resort at all times.
- Be quick to learn and self-motivate as well as possess the ability to multi task in a very fast-paced environment.
- Schedule flexibility a definite asset.
- Must be a team player and able to work without supervision.
- Strong guest service skills is a requirement.
- Ability to up-sell products is a huge asset.
- Must be able to sit and stand for the duration of a shift.
- This position is a physical one that requires grasping, standing, sitting, repetitive motions, lifting, listening as well as hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Be able to work outside everyday, in all weather conditions.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- First Aid certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of cross country skiing, snowshoeing, the outdoors and surrounding area are definite assets.
- Perform additional duties such as assisting in the Retail, Rentals and Cafe areas as required.
