**JOB DUTIES**:

- Support inspections of plumbing systems, checking for leaks, ensuring fixtures function properly.
- Manage and maintain tools for each job, ensuring accessibility and good working condition.
- Assist in loading and unloading equipment from service trucks and arrange for easy access.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing washers, unclogging pipes, and replacing damaged pipe sections.
- Aid in the installation of new plumbing systems, including toilets, sinks, and water heaters.
- Procure necessary materials from suppliers to ensure availability for each job.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and dispose of waste materials properly.
- Help with soldering angle stops and lowering drain stub outs
- Perform other activities at sites, as directed.
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Clean and pile salvaged materials
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Search, locate and repair reported water leaks
- Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
- Maintain equipment
- Perform other routine maintenance

**REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION**:

- Language required: English
- Some experience is a plus.
- On-the-job training may be provided.
- Basic Plumbing Knowledge: As the work involves assisting our experienced plumbers, having a basic understanding of plumbing systems, equipment, and safety procedures is necessary. This knowledge can be gained from previous work experience, a pre-apprenticeship program, or vocational training.
- Physical Fitness: The job often involves heavy lifting, working in cramped spaces, and being on their feet for extended periods. A good level of physical fitness is, therefore, important.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: The work involves the use of hand and power tools. Good hand-eye coordination is needed to operate these tools safely and effectively.
- Willingness to Learn: Given the range of tasks that a Plumber's Labourer may be asked to perform, a willingness to learn and adapt is critical.
- Basic Math Skills: These are needed for tasks such as measuring and cutting pipe, so a basic understanding of mathematics is necessary.
- Regarding years of experience, we typically prefer applicants to have at least one year of experience in a related field, such as construction or general labour.
