Ljunghall Canada produces high pressure aluminum die cast components to support the transportation sector. Our Canadian plant is currently looking for a Die Casting Process Technician to join our Engineering team.

The Die Casting Process Technician is responsible for die cast machine set up, daily process control verification, process development, troubleshooting and continuous improvement functions.

**Primary Responsibilities**

Die Cast Machine Setup:

- Use peripheral programs during die changes
- Assist with the correct installation of all peripheral equipment (i.e.: die spray manifolds, vacuum valves and thermal controllers)

Daily process control verification:

- Monitor and document daily process control verification which may include: process consumables, critical die cast settings, die temperature and vacuum control operations

Process development and continuous improvement, which may include:
Support of production and maintenance personnel as required

**Your Qualifications**
- 5-8 years' experience in aluminum high pressure die casting or similar environment
- Experience in process flow optimization, PFMEA, understanding of die casting calculation principles, data analyzation
- Strong understanding of cast/trim tool assemblies and other peripheral equipment
- Demonstrated ability to lead and provide technical training (i.e.. development of work instructions)
- Tooling set-up and preparation
- Ability to interpret blueprints
- Troubleshooting of equipment issues using logical and systematic practices
- Ability to travel outside Canada for training and supplier visits

**Desired Skills**
- Understanding of basic robot programming and adjustment of all peripheral equipment associated with a die cast cell
- Extensive familiarity the supervisor duties under the occupational health and safety acts
- Experience working directly with suppliers
- Trained in IATF169449

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
