Windsor Plywood is a Canadian owned and operated company. Unlike other Windsor Plywood Stores - Windsor Distribution focuses predominately on the re-distribution of materials to our Vancouver Island Windsor Plywood Stores. The operation has been in business in the Parksville area for 25+ year. The site has a Crane Trucks for all delivery needs. An onsite Door Shop serves the Windsor Plywood Store in Parksville | French Creek. Our goal is simple - focus on our customer’s needs and support Windsor Plywood Stores.
**SUMMARY OF POSITION**
The Driver | Crane-Truck Operator is critical to the successful operation of Windsor Distribution. They will be responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Required pickup and delivery of building materials. This is done along with supporting Yard related activities - including loading & unloading with Forklifts. **The role is physically demanding and requires a Level A Crane Certification and Class 3 with Airbrake Endorsement.**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Loading, transporting, and delivering items in a safe, timely manner
- Providing excellent customer service, answering questions and handling complaints
- Loading & unloading of Trucks | Yard & Worksites
- Assisting Contractors with material delivery placement & repositioning
- Demonstrate high-knowledge of inventory details, location & stock-levels on Site
- Demonstrate ability to identify grades, dimensions & species of lumber
- Required to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections | Daily equipment inspections
- Follow all Provincial driving rules & regulations
- Takes complete charge of all safety pertaining to setup, knockdown & operation of crane
- Operate Forklift in a diligent, efficient & safe manner
- Performs routine maintenance on Truck and Crane - **including vehicle cleaning**
**KEY REQUIREMENTS**
- Must have completed minimum Grade 12
- Level A Crane Operator Certificate
- Class 3 with Airbrake Endorsement Drivers License
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Operation & Certification of a Sit-Down Counter Balance Forklift
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated/self-directed, with an ability to work independently using sound judgment, logical reasoning skills, and intuition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, always mindful of the customer
- Familiarity with Smart Phones & GPS Devices
- Flexible, honest, acting in all situations with professionalism and integrity
- Able to deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events in a professional & timely manner
- Permanent resident of Canada is preferred

**GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Exposure to dust, dirt and adverse weather conditions - including rain, snow, wind, sun
- Required to be available to work Monday - Friday between hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm
- Personal protective equipment is required - including CSA Footwear.
- Working under tight deadlines & using sound-judgement & discretion
- Busy, high-volume work environment
- Noise level is moderate to low
