**Course number and title**:BIO325H5S - Biomechanics**

**Course description**:From the form of an organism one can read its evolutionary history. This course addresses the use of organ systems to find and process food, escape enemies by locomotion, reproduce by pollination vectors, filter nutrients, exchange gases, coordinate and make decisions. Content includes the mechanics of moving in fluids by swimming and flying, sending and receiving of signals at body surfaces, the microstructure of materials. Forces are seen to have adaptively affected the shape and leverage of skeletons. (0.5 FCE)

Effective September 1, 2023 - Sessional Lecturer I - $18,915.79 (Y, full course) & $9,457.90 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE) & $4,728.95 (0.25 FCE); Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $19,861.58 (Y, full course) & $9,930.79 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); Sessional Lecturer II - $20,243.53 (Y, full course) & $10,121.77 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $20,653.23 (Y, full course) & $10,326.62 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); Sessional Lecturer III - $20,725.52 (Y, full course) & $10,362.76 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE). Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $21,140.03 (Y, full course) & $10,570.02 (H, half Course, 0.5 FCE); All pay rates are inclusive of vacation pay.

**Description of duties**: Normal duties associated with teaching a university course, including preparation and delivery of course content, development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams, calculation and submission of grades, contact with students by regular office hours. Completion of all grades (may include make-up exams).
