**Sampling Technician Job Description**

**Reports to**: Quality Manager

The Sampling Technicianis responsible for all glass inspections for the quality department. This highly motivated and energetic individual is responsible for collecting glass samples for physical inspection to ensure that NexCycle Industries provides quality products to its customers.

The Glass Recycling Inspectorwill be responsible for:

- Sampling incoming glass from all sources
- Sorting incoming recyclable samples (Blue Box material) using a sorting and vibration table
- This involves removing all garbage, ceramic, stone, porcelain and metals by hand
- Collecting glass samples from various outdoor plant bunkers
- Using a vibration table to sort finish glass for contamination by hand
- Using the lab oven and kiln to test materials for moisture and loss on ignition
- Performing a physical color sort on material using a light table
- Entering data into spreadsheets and identifying when results are not within specification
- Communication to supervisors and managers of in process test results
- Inspection of trailers for outgoing materials
- Inspection of finish glass for outgoing loads
- Supporting the supervisors and production team members with equipment and processes on the production floor
- Troubleshooting potential quality process issues
- Maintaining a clean, safe work environment
- Following all safety rules

**The Sampling Technician Must**:

- Be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Be able to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Have good attention to detail and strong multi-tasking skills
- Be able to follow SOP’s
- Have working knowledge of Excel and Office Programs
- Have excellent time management skills
- Have strong communication skills
- Not be color blind
- Be able to lift 25lbs above waist height
- Be able to work in all outdoor temperatures and weather conditions for long durations of time

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Guelph, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
